We all know how important it is to run a bitcoin full node but for non technical people it can be difficult.
In this article
I show how it is possible to run LND and bitcoind (via ABCore) in a single standalone android app which can easily be installed on an Android smart phone or Android TV box.
I can't express how passionate I am to work on this project but I suddenly found my self with employment/financial difficulties hence am now raising funds to allow me to continue the work outlined in the medium article adding stability improvements and a nice UI as well as purchasing equipment such as an Android OS TV box for testing etc
If the target amount is not reached I will still try and find time and funds to develop the project however any financial support will be greatly appreciated and help expedite this!
The project will of course be open source and released under the terms of the MIT license.
I should emphasize that the project will be using ABCore and LND so it will only be as stable as those two projects and thus technically still a beta app at first, hence caution using it will be advised. However at least developing it will allow more people to download and test the concept of running a full lightning node on various android hardware via a simple app
I am Christian Moss a developer who has being working on bitcoin applications since 2013
One relevant application to this project is the pebble wallet which is a non custodial Lightning network wallet that runs a local LND node or lets the user remotely connect to their LND or btcpay server pebble.indiesquare.me
